Elizabeth Speakerman has taught secondary students for 30 years while
raising 5 children. She holds certificates in: Special Education, ESL (English as a Second Language), and Elementary Comprehensive. She is a proud Aggie as she completed her bachelor’s degree from Texas A & M. She also earned her Masters Degree in Reading at Sam Houston State University. Teaching students with reading difficulties, dyslexia, and Irlen’s Syndrome has been rewarding, but knows there is so much more work to be done. Her experience has led her to create this non-profit, Empowering Endeavors Limited, to reach out to community members who still need help “adulting”. The goal is to develop a mentoring program within the
community to offer a more complete education that is not directly taught in schools. This would allow people, who need the additional support, to learn the skills for productive, independent living.
